wine bottle with grapes and glass

‍‍‍Welcome to my blog and thanks for having a read through. Here you will be able to enjoy our latest musings on Wine, occasionally a beer, Hotels or Resorts and from time to time some random thoughts on ...well, just life in general; Each month will be different; one month I may shed some light on a Resort, or Hotel recently visited, another month share a few cents cents on a terrific wine (I may have sampled...extensively), beer or spirit that I have tried, and  to liven things up a bit further, every couple of months or so we will feature a guest blogger with their own shine on things. It could be a hotelier or meeting professional opining, but whomever it is, it will be a friend with the intention of turning a light on about somewhere or something really cool. This blog is written with the intent of having a bit of fun, sharing a nugget or two you may not have known and most importantly bringing you a smile, or maybe even a good laugh.

Enjoy!

October, 2017

Welcome to fall! I have to admit I h‍‍‍ave been a bit reticent with the blog over the last couple of months, no excuses, really just enjoyed the summer. From time to time (generally at cocktail parties) I am asked the question, how do you find the exact right hotel or resort for a meeting? My answer is pretty much always the same, "well...there is a lot to it actually, but the very short list is this; ease of access, aesthetics of the hotel and the location, service levels, food and beverage quality, meeting space, on property activities and value". There are a ton more of course but no one really wants to hear more than that. For that matter I think they glaze over by the time I get to meeting space, but they ask, so I tell. That's usually followed up with a profound, "Oh" and another question ..."what hotel meets all those"? I answer with the same resort almost every time, the Park Hyatt Aviara!

Located in Carlsbad, California the resort is a short 30 minutes or so from the San Diego Airport making ease of access a breeze, from pretty much anywhere.

Eat Drink and be Merry...Oh yeah!

Combined with a gracious, warm and professional (but not in the least bit stuffy) staff it's no wonder the Park Hyatt Aviara is always first to mind when I am asked that question, they cover it all, in abundance. Go check it out, you will not be disappointed.
